Fire In Pigeon Forge Destroys Two Cabins
An overnight fire engulfed two cabins in Pigeon Forge and alarmed some tourists staying nearby. As the sun came up Thursday, tourists were checking out the damage from a fire that blazed in the wee hours of the morning. Tourist Brad Harrald says, "I looked out the window and saw a big orange glow." That glow was from a vacant cabin that caught fire and spread to another.
The fire was so close to the cabins next door, it even damaged part of the wooden side. Two cabins were destroyed and two others were damaged, a fire that was more than just a site to see. It sparked real concern in those staying in cabins down the road.

Tourist Christen Green says, "We were all kind of worried that it would spread to each house."
Harrald says, "We were actually going to start packing up our stuff to get out because if the wind would have blown our way we would have been on fire too."
Pigeon Forge Deputy Fire Chief John Brackins says, "When we have them in subdivisions like this, it's not uncommon to lose two or three of them because they are so close together."
It was too close for Harrald and his family. He says, "All the debris was blowing our way and falling on the vehicles and stuff like that and sparks and stuff right next to ours. I just thought wow there was this huge fire over there and hopefully the people in it got out."
Two firefighters suffered minor burns. No one else was injured in the fire. Fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause.
