GATLINBURG - Six years after discussions began over what should be done with W.L. Mills Auditorium, the ribbon was cut Thursday for the opening of a grand new facility that both preserves and enhances the city's heritage.

The 50,000-square-foot-redeveloped Mills Auditorium retains the most striking features of the original 1956 building designed by Hubert Bebb, as well as enhances it with an expansion. The Arts and Crafts architectural style of the new W.L. Mills Conference Center also perfectly blends the building into the environment.
