Miracle Theater - Opens April 10th

'Miracle' nears completion - New Pigeon Forge musical to debut before Easter

PIGEON FORGE - Opening night for the new Miracle Theater has been moved to Monday, April 10, meaning the religious musical will debut just prior to Easter weekend.

General Manager Bob Eubanks contributed the delay to construction issues.

"What happened was the massiveness of the production," he said. "It is simply delays that were out of our control ... We are really and truly transforming the complete auditorium to probably the most technologically advanced theater in the Southeast. We have unbelievable lighting, a complete field of stars overhead, and we have unbelievable sounds-complete surround sound. There are just a whole lot of things to come together."

The Miracle is an original musical and dramatic production created by Linda Nell Cooper and David Legg. The show will focus on the story of Jesus Christ and miracles associated with his life.

"The excitement level is really high because things are starting to fall in place," Eubanks said. "It's really exciting. It's a butterfly situation. It's the same butterflies that an actor or a singer gets walking out on stage-all the adrenalin gets pumping. It's just very exciting."

The Fee Hedrick Family Entertainment Group will have spent more than $10 million to purchase and renovate the venue, which is the former Louise Mandrel Theater. The group also owns The Comedy Barn Theater, Black Bear Theater and other venues in Pigeon Forge.
